BPS Summer Photographic Outings 2013
These events take place once a month during the club break. Come along and take pictures of local areas with fellow photographers - a great way to develop your skills, learn and share experiences. Details will be posted on this site as they become available. It is intended to organise a mix of weekend and weekday evening events.
SUMMER EVENTS 2013
The first event will be to Fettercairn Distillery on Sunday 16th June from 10.00 to 12.00. The distillery will not be open to visitors at this time and will be an ideal opportunity to get some interesting shots. The Distillery management will need to know the approximate number taking part so please let Gordon Milne know by e-mail if it is your intention to take advantage of this offer. Please note - no flash photography allowed.
A photo shoot has been arranged to take place at Barry Mill on Sunday July 28th from 10 am to 12 noon.
This will be before the mill is open to the public and an ideal time to photograph this historic building from the inside as well as the outside. As you will be aware, this is an Angus NTS property, but entrance will be free to non members as well as members.
The management will be opening the mill for our benefit so it is important to be able to advise them how many of us will be taking advantage of this opportunity.
Please let Gordon Milne know by e-mail if it is your intention be present. (gordons@ardovie2.freeserve.co.uk)
A photo shoot has been arranged at the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre for Sunday 25th August from 12 noon to 2 pm.
The Heritage Centre is taking delivery of a full scale Spitfire during July that will be on display from thereon, on the forecourt, and will provide an excellent introduction to what is a very interesting museum spread over several huts and sheds and the main hangar. The photo opportunities are limitless both inside and outside the Air Station buildings.
As this is an enterprise that is run entirely by volunteers there will be an entrance charge of £5 per adult, £4 concession that includes a 50p charity donation enabling the centre to claim back £1.25 per person.
Having had a ‘free’ tour today, I am very impressed and I’m sure, being ex RAF, I could spend many hours there.
The management would like to know approximately how many of us will turn up, so could you please let Gordon Milne know by e-mail if it would be your intention to spend a few hours contemplating some serious local history. (gordons@ardovie2.freeserve.co.uk)
